Why the rush for the gates to open quickly? just activate them from your house/garage before you start the car/van, I have a electric garage door so operate them together they are both "Somfy" but on different frequency's, so annoyingly I need two remotes

Also now that we have enabled the automatic closing which is currently at 20 seconds, it would not give much time to get in the car and through the gates before they closed.

Is waiting for them to open completely when returning such a big deal? If it's no more than 30 seconds, where's the rush?

I don't understand the second bit, don't use the remote until you are ready to pass through the gates, you have photocells so they will not close but re_open if the vehicle is passing through them.
For some unexplained reason I have never seen a gate installation in France that uses a loop detector for auto-exit, it's very easy to do but is viewed as a mystic art by the installers I have spoken with, also absent is the facility for pedestrian opening or gate hold open from a switch on the interphone handset or a second digicode code.

That is the standard factory default and cannot be altered, you could upgrade to a newer more expensive model but the feature will likely reinstall itself during a mise à jour

Thank for your explanation I understand now. I just have a double gate, but there are two buttons on the control, one just opens one leaf for pedestrians, the other both leaf's. I disabled the auto closing as I like to be in control of the gates.

True pedestrian opening as done by the proper manufacturers opens one gate partially, enough for a pedestrian only, most just run it through a normal open cycle.
With step by step logic (what you have selected) and not auto-close the cycle time can be a lot quicker if you use the stop & reverse commands, no waiting for the gates to fully open, then pause, then close, on auto-close if you ask for a hold open function it will require consideration by the installer which many struggle with.
