Today just before 9 this morning our daughter was crossing a busy road. The lights were red for walkers, but a driver stopped and waived our daughter over.
She went across, but was hit by another driver who probably wondered why the other car had stopped.
She was flown into the air, landing on the floor a couple of metres away.
The driver was horrified, called the pompiers and covered our daughter with her coat. She was taken to Urgence where they diagnosed she had whiplash.
It could've been a lot worse, she is bruised and sore, her lip is split and she is swollen on her face. Other bruises haven't arrived yet.
She is lucky we know, someone was looking out for her.

Good that cuts and bruises and whiplash are all that she suffered, it could have been much more serious. How old is she, by the way?

No longer young enough to bounce, but still young enough to recover more quickly than we would from a similar experience.

Horrified to read your post, somewhat happier to hear she is bruised and battered but otherwise OK.
As you say a lucky escape from smthg more serious.

Thatβs a dreadful thing to happen to her, very pleased to read that sheβs not seriously hurt, but the shock can stay for quite some time, so TLC to herself as well as others would help. Please wish her all best wishes for a Happy Birthday.

Shocking reading - I was fearing worse as I read on, so glad it is not as bad as it could have been.
This is a problem when drivers are trying to be nice and courteous to others, it can often go bad. Had your daughter refused the driver's offer, then it could be taken as being ungrateful. Difficult one.

Just to update. She is doing ok but hurts from head to toe, some bruising is appearing and her lip and face are still swollen and very bruised. She is still wearing the neck collar as much as possible.
Surprisingly to us at least, when she saw our GP on Friday evening, our GP would only give her a stop work certificate for Friday the day it happened. Obviously at that stage no one knew how bruised and psychologically affected she would be and at the moment she feels a bit afraid to go out and definitely not happy to teach students (private tuition). Thank goodness she didn't have to appear in court to do translations. The GP seemed to think "it's only whiplash so you can work".
So she is going to see the GPs locum tonight to try and ask for a certificate for this week, so at least she can claim lost earnings.

That doesn't sound very supportive by the GP. Whiplash can have long term effects. She should wear the collar as long as possible (Personal experience). At least she has you to take good care of her.
