Probably a capon but we are still is negotiations. You shouldn't have a cap on while you are eating - it's vulgar

All home made.....Tarka Dhal, Lamb & Spinach Madras, Chicken Tikka Masala with chapati and shop bought pickles......with buttered steamed Basmati rice Any spare seats at your table? In our house I've managed to get turkey off the menu a few years ago but haven't yet managed to replace it with a damned good curry.

Chateau Latour 2009 Meursault Les Perrières 2015 Ch La Tour Blanche 1996 Taylor’s Vintage 2003 Is the port a new (unopened) bottle as I saw a tv prog recently that featured the manager of Taylor's in Porto and he said that the bottle should be finished within three months of opening as thereafter the taste is ruined? 3 mths is far too long. 2 weeks at most. Sherry is also often kept too long once opened. Amontillado 2 weeks , fino 2 days max

Home-made bread, home-made scrape or (depending how Christmas Eve goes) A couple of generous home-made Limoncellos, Home-made foie gras with toast and red onion marmalade, Coquilles St Jaques Thailandaises, Pintade farcie, sweet potato chips (home-grown), Brussels and chestnuts (H-G), cheese (damn, have to buy that ) Praline Ice cream (Home-made). Champagne for me, red for 'Sir'.

Well having today selected the main event I can report something similar to last year:
Breakfast: Smoked salmon, scrambled egg, mustard and dill sauce, bacon and small sausages. Champagne with and without orange juice.
Main meal (probably around 17:00hrs) Gambas, avocado and salad Dry white wine
Foie gras on toast Sweet Jurnacon
Chapon, Chestnut and apricot stuffing, roast tatties and parsnips, sprouts and broccoli. St. Estephe or Pomerol.
Cheese: Cheddar, Blue Stilton, Brie, Roquefort, Comte, Tete de Moines, a Chevre and a Brebis. Vintage port - forget 3 months. It will be lucky to get to 2022.
In the unlikely event of we still being awake
Christmas Pud and thick cream Beaumes de Venise
Rather similar to last year but should still be good. After all a lot of Christmas is about tradition - aka doing this year what you did last but hopefully better.

Preparation by us both and for just 2 humans - although quite a number of felines may well get a taste of the Chapon.
Just because there is a large number of courses, don't tink that the plates will be piled high for each course. Little and often might well apply.

I beg to disagree about tradition 🙂 Our last Christmas and New Year in UK were as French as I could make them, and I was so looking forward to never, ever having to face another mince pie, Christmas pudding or cake ever again! My ideal this year would have been gambas followed by swordfish steaks but the budget doesn't run to much fish lately. At least, not the fish I prefer!
