Just listened to tonight's announcement by Castex, re new Covid measures - I thought he spoke really well and was very effective in getting the point across about the unvaccinated uneccessarily taking up hospital places, etc...
From a selfish point of view, I'm glad to hear that schools will be starting back on Monday and that OH's work won't be affected, but surprised that the couvre feu won't be effective until after the New Year, which is obviously a political, rather than a scientific, decision...

What are the curfew measures OOI, not that there’s much hope of us getting out there currently…….

Nobody allowed from UK into France unless they are French, have a French partner or are French resident.

There are no curfew measures envisaged at the moment; as with other countries, however, things may change if the situation gets much worse. Agree with Crystal about Castex's efficiency in getting across the message about the unvaccinated; not sure if it was in his or Véran's address, or earlier on the TF1 platform, where it was stated that 90% of those in reanimation are non-vaccinated.

The fourth vaccination hasn’t been ruled out for next year, it’s inevitable imo.

Political yes but pragmatism is probably the real reason, any measures would be universally ignored and whatever government were in power they would come under fire, the inevitable car torchings etc would be 50 times worse.

One change that is a bit bizarre: no right to eat or drink on long-distance transport, including trains and coaches, even seated, but restaurants and cafés can still remain open. Five or six hours on a coach or a train with nothing to eat or drink will be difficult for many.

I think the idea is that people who stand at the bar move about and are closer to each other than those who are seated at a table. Not sure if having barstools gets over the problem.

Any idea what the no standing to drink in bars etc is all about ? At a bar on a stool you are not able to maintain a distance of 1,5 or 2m (depends were you are) from another person not in your "group" as a table provides. Hence the closure of serving "at the bar". People from other social circles mingling.

It was always that way from the start, universally ignored in these parts, did the restriction actually ever get lifted?
