CH 3 last night had a couple on who had adopted an old cat. It was in very good health other than it had no teeth. The vet who was giving it a check up had never seen a 23 year old cat. I had no idea a cat could live that long it was not even blind.

Our rescue cat .. acquired when she was 14 .. lived with us with all her bits and pieces intact .. until she was 20. 23 is a phenomenal age .. bless him/her.

I had a cat. His name was Dillon. He was mostly white with a bit of ginger. He would lie in the middle of the road pretending to be a white dot in a line of dotted white bits. Luckily I lived at the end of a cul-de-sac where drivers would stop their cars, get out and move Dillon to a safer place. The schoolchildren who passed twice daily loved him. When he was 17 he got cat flu and was very, very ill but recovered though was left with facial tics and a few other oddities. He died aged 23 on a 'Dillon day'. That was a day when he would soak up every ray of the sun and change position in the garden to make the most of the warmth.
He was very special.

This cat, even after his Christmas dinner, is suddenly awake (he sleeps a lot) as soon as someone goes in the direction of the kitchen or the fridge. Date of birth: mid August 2002.

One of the cats I brought with me to France lived to the ripe old age of 21. She was a beautiful grey with turquoise eyes and kept all her teeth and claws to the end. I suspect it was an overdose of wildlife that got her in the end, she was exhausted!

My ex and I got a kitten back in 1990, quickly named Psycho, she lived up to her name.
When young she would sit on the pavement and stare down dogs and their owners. Some would walk past, but most dogs would shy away and they would have to cross the street.
When older she did it with cars, sitting in the middle of the road using eye contact to intimidate the drivers, I did even see people reversing away and turning around.
Until she lost her teeth in about 2014 no wildlife was safe. Rats, pigeons, young rabbits, several thousand small birds and mammals.
She made it to 25, I think the record for a cat is over 30.
