As yet tonight's starter is still undecided, but probably something quite simple. The main will be Pork and Beans casserole with a baked spud. Pud is likely to be ice cream of some sort.

2nd day of Shepherds pie made with the remains of the lamb roast served with peas and cabbage.
Envious of those eating lots of garden produce, all we have is salad and herbs so far but just about to harvest the first greenhouse cucumber of the summer. Our own chicken manure/straw/compostable waste compost is resulting into some nice, healthy growth.

We will be starting tonight's repast with a couple of very large (U6) Gambas lightly fried in Tomalley oil on a small bed of noodles. We will follow that with a Bolognaise style sauce with either Merguez or meatballs.

How do you cook your dry, salted cod, Nifty? There’s always a large amount for sale on stalls in the market on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

I don’t. OH informs me that it requires lots of soaking first. In the end we ate out I went for the sea bass which was quite unlike any bass that I have seen before After eating stuff one knows and places that one knows, eating out in Portugal is a bit of a white knuckle ride, what with the lingo problem.

I seldom buy the salted cod nowadays, I buy it already 'de-salée'. My time is precious.

Sweet potato stew with garlic, ginger and chilli, onion, red lentils, spinach and coconut milk. Sounds awful but we find it delicious.
