Thanks for the explanation Papa!
The good news is that it looks like P&O renovators within reason can continue bringing over their UK purchases as they always did with a little foresight, an inventory and reciepts as appropriate to smooth the way and above all an understanding attitude of what the responsability of the Doaunes is, they are doing us all a big favor and should be appreciated for it and not given a hard time.
I have had nothing but pleasurable exchanges with them, speaking reasonable French makes their job a lot easier, they made a B line for the guy in aRHD French registered van towing a trailer mounted cherry picker covered in UK Plant Hire company graphics that looked like it had just been bought from auction, probably beyond the towing capacity of the van and with the vans French number plate on it, all around the cherry picker and spewing out the back of the van were new timber, guttering, insulation plaster etc etc and this was at the height of the covid travel restrictions.
I think he would have had a hard time even if he had an inventory.

Came back to UK yesterday on shuttle, painless really, no paperwork asked for as we had already uploaded PLF and Proof of Vaccination to Le Shuttle, passport stamped, no customs check apart from him asking us how long we had been away and if we had a house in France.......Got moved to an earlier train train so even better.......

Do we still need an attestation d'honneur to present to border control or whoever may ask on return journey to France? I can't find a link. Thanks.

Thank you. I suspect it must be on the shuttle site as well. I was trawling through the .gouv sites, but must have missed it.
