It sounds more like one for doing when you get back to U.K.

If your test is no good AP becasue its not done by a recognised body, Boots are £30 each for Antigen and you dont pay until you go for the test and can cancel at any time...... I will check that C19 testing are still on the approved list. We have used these same tests when we travelled in October, so fingers crossed. Thanks for the head up on Boots.

We ordered ours a few months ago through C19 Testing, my wife tells me that on Martin's Money Tips they are now available or £13. But how do you do the test and send it off and get the results back within 24 hours? I travelled back to France in mid December with a home lateral flow test that cost £12. I ordered a few from different suppliers because I had tested positive 10 days previously and got stuck in UK isolating (got loads of extra work done though ). I wasn't sure how long after the 10 days it would take to get a negative travel test. You order from an approved company. They send you the kit through the post. You do the test yourself at home. After the required time has passed you send them a photo of your test result (sometimes with your passport in the same picture - they all have slightly different rules) They email you a result certificate that is ok for travel to France. I ordered from 3 different companies: NX Healthcare cost £12 result cane through within 5 minutes. C19 Testing £22 result came through in about 1 hour I did one test in the morning and one in the afternoon because although at the time it was test within 48 hrs I wanted to make sure I also had a test <24 hrs just to be sure. I also bought another from Chronomics £19 - not used yet I think I might be able to use my unused kit for travel back to France. I've just booked a trip back to UK for work now that the rules have eased. Worth noting that you might need a different kit for return to UK - the test is the same but you need to make sure you have the reference number for the UK locator form.

As AmandaJ says, with C19 Testing you photograph the test with your passport in the picture and scan the QR code on the box enter your kit ID no. and follow the instructions, we received our certificates emailed to us within the hour.
It said they were £22 on their website just now, maybe there is a link from Martin's money tips website that make them cheaper.

2 x NX Healthcare antigen tests ordered for next week.......Total: £23.98 Their price is very attractive! If you don’t mind, please could you kindly report on the process after you have arrived in France next week. Thanks. I had intended to use the Boots in-store antigen tests which worked well last year. I also used the home day 2 test but although my wife’s negative result was accepted and a certificate issued, my equally negative result failed to pass through the online system and eventually was declared as inconclusive. I just ignored it and nothing happened. As a further complication to our travel plans we have decided to drive to our French house and then drive on to Barcelona to visit our son and his family for a few days. Unfortunately testing is required going from France to Spain and again for the return trip. I was wondering if I could use NX Healthcare antigen tests for both or either border crossing. I know we would be able to visit a pharmacy near the border but not very sure about getting a test in Spain for the return. Any advice would be very welcome.

My husband is having various bits of him checked out and is keeping well, life is pretty calm since coming home - thank you for asking, Johnny.

Thanks for the link. These must be the equivalent of the free NHS tests that are currently running short. I expect that if required there would be no certificate to act as proof of a negative test result. I am trying to convince myself that the France/Spain border will not require any test even if I am based in UK.

Sure will, tests arrived this morning, they look the same as the free NHS ones, same company, and there is a link in the invoice email for sending the completed negative test photo and passport image details, that will be a week today........I'll let you all know......
