Ref: Leroy Merlin customer service- Our nearest Leroy Merlin (about an hour away) certainly scores on that. We bought a load of kitchen units from them and they were very helpful and patient with us monolingual customers. And when my chainsaw had been repaired beyond all reasonable expectations I did my research and went to LM to purchase a specific replacement. I was examining my choice there and the look of disappointment on my face at finding it was going to be too heavy to use with one hand up a ladder must have sparked a response in the staff member. He suggested a brand I hadn't considered that had the same length of bar but was considerably lighter. I wasn't convinced until he mentioned it was a Husqvarna Group product. I took a chance, and haven't regretted it. Better than any of my previous ones, Stihl, Echo, and McCulloch.

Aah chainsaws, a very up to season subject. If anyone needs advise on the subject, I am sure there are many on this forum who can help, myself included. Chain sharpening, carburetor problems, w.h.y.

W.H.Y.?
Mine is a Stihl 08S old school with proper venturi Tillotson carburettor and no soppy safety devices.
Starts on one pull after 50 years, I think it is the original plug, I may have cleaned and gapped it once in the 30 years I have had it.
A "blokes" tool.
I am too much of a wuss to use it!

What name had they dreamed up for the make? Dolmar After a quick Google search I can find no link to Husqvarna but Dolmar is a brand made by Makita. Perhaps my addled brain got the salesman's statement wrong. Needless to say, it's a decent machine and so far it has been reliable over the last three years. Used a lot in winter and in summer when my firewood is delivered. Often the logs are too long to fit the burner. My brand of choice is usually Stihl for petrol tools being well designed with long availability of spares, but prices are now out of my range for buying new.

It does actually have an attempt at a kickback guard that I would not want to put to the test.
All chainsaws are a danger to the user, especially in inexperienced, ill equipped and gung ho hands.

My first chainsaw was a large Stihl and after using it for a while I took it to a shop to buy a spare chain. The bod behind the counter refused to sell me one. Why? He said the kickback arm was missing and he just turned his back and walked away. I went home and took the chain off and found another shop to sell me another. I used that machine for about 4 years until I decided it was too large and heavy for my usual usage. I agree. A chainsaw is the most dangerous tool available and should be used with ultimate care. Just like a car stuffed full of airbags. It is still dangerous.
