Opening a French Revolut account seems to assume I would be a French tax resident, I was able to also enter my UK NI number to say I also paid tax in the UK, but i was a bit nervous so i did not continue, does opening an account like that have drawbacks tax wise? I dont really want to get into filling in French tax returns. I think when we opened the CA account they said we were UK tax resident only.......

I can only help with practicalities of a French account; I've not yet found any problems for my limited use. Revolut has applied for a UK banking licence and is expecting it to be granted early(?) in 2022. I'm not sure how much difference it will make unless you plan on holding large sums in the account and want the protection a banking licence offers? As I said, I've only ever used is as a card and easy/cheap foreign exchange and never as a full banking service. Just keep your UK Revolut account. Have you tried transferring a small euro amount to you Credit Agricole account using Revolut? You've not said why you were thinking having a EU IBAN would be useful? The UK is still part of the Single Euro Payments Area (or SEPA). A Revolut Euro IBAN starting with GB or LT should be accepted everywhere in the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) to send or receive Euro payments including direct debits. www.revolut.com/fr-LU/help/ajouter-de-l-argent/par-virement-bancaire/que-faire-si-mon-iban-n-est-pas-accepte-pour-des-virements-sepa
