We did it once we got a new Bmw X3 on lease with a purchase option. It ended up costing about 15000 extra over the origional cost if we had paid cash. Did not do that again

If you like driving a brand new car, keeping it in pristine condition (or being prepared to lose some money) and then giving it back to the concession/garage after 3 years .. starting again with another new one; then go for it.
As Mysty says hanging on to it can be expensive.
Edit : No personal experience .. just know some people who have done this.

Most of my neighbours in the UK report for JLR, although a couple work for Aston Martin.
For £100 per month they get a new Discovery every 6 months (or 6,000 mile if that comes up first)
That's the kind of deal you want.

If you do lease, I would be wary of a Tesla. The DM today showed that Tesla made a big mistake in their cabin heater design. They installed a heat pump to get the most from their Watts, however, in Canada, at minus 40 the heat pump was destroyed. For the tech minded, the picture in the article shows the scroll compressor of the heatpump, both with the top half of the scoll on and with it removed. The scroll has been destroyed. Probably the cold weather liquified the gas and as liquid cannot be compressed, it smashed the scrolls. Household heatpumps have the same type of compressor and are limited in operation at low temperatures. edit. My signature statement comes to mind.

I have being "Buying" my cars like this for a good few years, a small deposit, fixed payment for four years, a pre-agreed final price to take ownership, or exchange for a new one, have done it four times and never had a CT, on my four new ones, but now we think we may keep this on, I have always wanted another convertible, so will see in 12 months time, probably Audi TT RS Quattro, winter is a good time to buy a rag top.
