she deserved all she got and more! She has indeed got all she deserved and more. Namely the accolade of thousands, perhaps millions of people, for standing up and calling a spade, a spade. Anyone see the parallel with the Emperor's New Clothes?

The standards and rules of debate in the House of Commons are rather different from those of a street meeting or demonstration. Whether her points are valid or not is not the issue, it is that she failed to observe the convention for whatever reason. This expulsion was the only option.

That her comments are valid is very much the point. It took someone with her courage to say what needs to be said and not allow the Prime Liar to spout his dissembling mendacity without being called out for it. And as long as people ignore that they are being manipulated and lied to this moral-free piece of ordure will continue to blight the Office he holds.

You ignore my point; there is a way of doing things in the Commons which she flouted. Had she wished to make her speech outside at a meeting, fine but saying it the way she did was wrong and she knew it, I suspect.

Really woolybanana, I suspect you are just baiting people on this forum.
Can you really put protocol in such a historically rowdy place as the house of commons in front of people telling the truth or calling out those who do not?
If you respond with a stupid comment I suspect that I might get banned - wrong person.

Not baiting, just exploring a different viewpoint in this case. This forum is called ‘friendly’ but I am starting to have doubts

Whether her points are valid or not is not the issue, it is that she failed to observe the convention for whatever reason. This expulsion was the only option. She was suspended for attempting to highlight breaches of those standards you hold so dear. Expulsion was not an option at all, that's why she was suspended. And indeed only for the remainder of the day. On the other hand, the members who were guilty of trying to influence the judge in the criminal trial of an ex MP sex offender, were suspended for a WHOLE day. Expulsion in that case should have been the only option.

Agreed about trying to influence the judge, Ally, but not about the other.

The system is broken. The Emperor was not wearing new clothes. Now, like then people have to stand up and point out the obvious, standing by an outdated tradition that allows liars and cheats to lie and cheat without caution is pathetic.

The House of Commons has always been rather good at exposing wrongdoing. without the unsubtle, publicity seeking display of This Woman ( to quote the thread title).

It seems to have been doing a very poor job of it during the past year. And you accused me of having blinkered vision.

It is disrespectful and just like the athletes protesting at the Olympics, it is not the place to do it.
