Johnson has all but announced the pandemic is all but over, meanwhile in the last 3 days 1127 people died in the United Kingdom, victims of covid. He's the best we can muster? Really?

Getting rid of Johnson will not change how the UK is governed but if done quickly enough could save the Tory party from election defeat in 2024 provided someone like Sunak is PM. Labour's best hope is for Johnson to stay in power despite Starmer's demand that he resigns now.
Sadly, the state of UK politics is so dire that a Starmer led Labour government is infinitely better than what we have now yet they don't have the policies or the experience to effect the changes needed to deal with the aftermath of Covid and Brexit, public spending and borrowing will no doubt be increased massively but that is not the answer.
With respect to the relaxation of the Covid restrictions in England Labour support it so you have to assume they'd have done something similar if they had been in charge.

Which reinforces my point about the ease with which a Tory crosses the floor. Ideologically you couldn't slip a wet cigarette paper in the gap between the two. Don't make the mistake of thinking my disdain for Johnson, his government and Tories in general nor my comparison with Corbyn's plight is an indication of support for labour. That ship sailed pre-Blair.

If the Tories don't get rid of Johnson soon the damage to the party could be so bad that Labour will be in power in two years time, under Corbyn that would never have been a possibility. Getting rid of boris fixes nothing they are all toxic. Name one potential replacement. HAL 10000. ’ While HAL's motivations are ambiguous, the computer is unable to resolve a conflict between his general mission to relay information accurately, and orders specific to the mission requiring that he withhold from Johnson the true purpose of the mission. (This withholding is considered essential after the findings of a 2019 psychological experiment, Project Britexit where humans were made to believe that there had been alien contact. In every person tested, a deep-seated xenophobia was revealed, which was unknowingly replicated in HAL's constructed personality. Mission Control did not want the crew of Discovery to have their thinking compromised by the knowledge that alien contact was already real.) With the crew dead, HAL reasons, such was the credulity of Johnson he would not need to lie to them
