Are you asking the question out of curiosity, surprise, or for provocation?
curiosity. I thought the biggest hill there was just for walking up and getting rescued. Rescues are the consequence of that flippant attitude.

No way!! According to ViaMichelin - Chorley to ben nevis is 280 miles and would take 5 and a half hours. Leave Chorley get to Manchester airport at least 2 hours before your flight - arrive in France - coach transfer to resort. That's nearly half a day - I know I have done it 6 -also by car takes even longer. I was thinking Chorleywood, yes you are correct. Go on I'll let you off - enjoy Sunday.

Not much skiing round here on snow,but there’s the aforementioned Rossendale dry ski slope,and an indoor place in Manchester

Not much skiing round here on snow,but there’s the aforementioned Rossendale dry ski slope,and an indoor place in Manchester Plus, the longest UK dry slope and second longest in Europe, is located at Hillend, Edinburgh. It's the training centre for Olympic skiers, and is easily accessible from many parts of the country.
