Anyone worried? Russian war games off the coast of Ireland.. Seems like they are trying to box us in..
My father even offered to purchase an open date airplane ticket ( do they still exist?) to get back to the US if it does escalate.

Great idea and if another WW breaks out you can join in a couple of years later than the rest of the world. As usual.

I think the old man will let putin have europe if it comes to it. As the US/North America now exports oil; the middle east may not even be interesting and our allies there seem to be handling it good enough with their missile defense systems.. Israel should be able to handle it in a few button presses. Iran would not stand a chance.
China is our biggest threat.

And, while Vlad is distracting the West, watch Taiwan’s nasty neighbour.

Just watched this very thing play out on Warship And what was the result? Russian warship off Irish coast to await arrival of US sub to gather data on it. HMS Northumberland sent to scene to put herself between Russian and Yank. Northumberland makes lots of noise with her engines to cover noise from sub so Ruskie can't record her. Result: Russian does one and yank skipper calls brit skipper to thank him. Job done.

The current crisis is bizarre and scary with so many contradictions. The Ukraine wants to join the EU and NATO but is telling both organisations to chill out and that this is normal Russian behaviour. The EU is split with France and Germany at loggerheads over sanctions because Germany needs Russian gas, then you have the US involvement with Biden trying to pretend he's a tough guy whilst his approval ratings tank at home. In the meantime Putin is sniggering away in the Kremlin probably playing Risk as we speak.

Is this not just a rerun of the Cuban missile crisis, but in reverse? If so, and if Kennedy was right then, then isn't Pugin right now? I do think Ukrainian membership of NATO is a provocation.
