I never wanted to leave the EU but wanted it reformed.

Maybe, just to be lateral, the EU will rejoin UK.

If the GOP would explode, maybe.

I'm not quite clear what you mean by anti-Boris nonsense. It comes across as being anti-Boris is nonsense. If that's the case then it's the kind of Boris nonsense that I'm anti. The fat, useless, racist, misogynistic lying tramp has no redeemable features as far as I can see. Of course someone may know something positive about the man that they're willing to share.

If the GOP would explode, maybe. I would rather be a russian than a Democrat.
That might come true if I stick around here for a couple more months..

The constant flow of negatives deliberately and carefully released and placed would suggest an ‘underground’ opposition, partly based in his party, partly in the civil service, partly in big business.

Oh I don't think the opposition is underground, it's quite overt. And quite right too. Yet there are still those gullible enough to think that an egotistical narcissist who knows little of the truth and cares less for it and whose sole talent is amorality is a fit leader of the country. Even some cabinet look abashed when wheeled out to defend the indefensible.

But the fact that a number of his most vociferous critics come from the right of the party and indeed include ERG members, suggests that blaming remainers is a weak proposition.
Boris's biggest enemy is Boris and now his repeated and near continuous lies are coming home to roost. No doubt he will want to coat himself with more grease in the hope he can slip through the criticisms and no doubt there will be a body trail of Civil Servants and advisers.

You know that people in his position can sue if lies are told about them, don't you. Boris Johnson will never win a defamation law suit because he'll never have the grounds to launch one.

Those running the Tory party and the Tory media have decided it's time for him to go, they were fully aware of the various parties from the start but kept quiet because they needed someone to deal with Covid and then take the blame for any mistakes which were of course inevitable given Johnson's total lack of competence, he was always a 'high risk' candidate for PM but he got Brexit done which was his main job.
It's hard to see past Sunak or Truss as a replacement but both come with baggage and lack charisma, he's married to an heiress and despite being the Foreign Secretary no one knows who she is, the next election is only two years away and it will be very close.

As I see it, woolybanana, you see what is anti-Boris in the press as nonsense, whereas the rest of us see it as evidence of his unfitness to be the Prime Minister.
