I wasn’t quite sure where to place this query. I’ve seen all the massive queues of commercial transport, but has anyone any experience of travelling by car, are you put into a different lane or is there a really long wait?

Can’t comment on the current situation, but there has always been separate lanes for HGV’s and cars.

If you are traveling via Le Shuttle then you are away from the lorry queues, the lorry queue's are for the ferry a few miles further towards Dover, this worried me for a time also until we traveled last week, no queue's or delays whatsoever to get to the terminal for Le Shuttle if thats what you mean by 'EuroTunnel'

Travelled Dover Calais on P&O ferries last Monday. No queues of lorries or anything else. Don’t believe all you read in the media. The only downside for P&O was so few non commercial travellers ie Tourists. Half of the boat was closed off.

Lorries using the tunnel (and there are quite a few) go in separate and different trains to cars, coaches and vans. Queues should be kept separate.

Monday was probably a good day to travel on the M20.

That would be typical with foreign drivers trying to get home for the weekend.
