I would not trust Leggett with anything ..
When we bought our estate agent was fine .. not excessively fine but good, very straightforward and helpful. He cut his (IMV exorbitant) charges by half to help the sale along.

Perhaps they mean 1 in 4 of Legget's British buyers trust them?

He cut his (IMV exorbitant) charges by half to help the sale along. My sentiments entirely. I usually do my own selling. The one instance I engaged one it ended badly, me ending up losing a sizeable amount. When I bought using a local estate agent he was very low key, no bullshit, no pressure, and paid attention to all my questions and did his best to help. His English was plenty good enough and he also reduced his commission to ensure the purchase didn't exceed my budget. In all I was impressed, given my previous loathing of estate agents.

Not the most persuasive advertisement. Maybe only 1 in 4 British buyers used Leggett, the rest were better informed.

3 out of 4 not trusting is not a good selling point.

We tried Leggett's once, about 10 years ago, met Johanna Leggett (I think that is how it was spelt) had a house to buy and a house to sell, they, in my opinion had no respect for the people buying or selling, just their cut of the deal. Thought we were a bunch of muppetts that they could railroad into a deal but we stood firm and bypassed them and did the deals on our own. Give them a wide berth in my opinion.

3 out of 4 not trusting is not a good selling point. That's what I thought but possibly because after 60 years my English is still not perfect it was not clear. ☺

I am not sure of course but I might be one of the only people (plus other half)to remember when it all started in Rochebeaucourt (24)just inside the Dordogne in the late 90's. Clever idea, shocked that no other French immo hadn't already done it themselves, then you realise that any potential agent had to pay to be taught the ways of how Leggets worked by them going to HQ in Rochebeaucourt, rather different to how most if not all immos train their personnel. Unless it's changed, a Leggets agent only earns when they sell. One hears very rarely of a good agent, which is understandable as training is less than basic in my view.

Leggett says 1 in 4 British buyers trust them...
I'm astounded, they must be very good. Isn't that an estate agent nearly being truthful? Nearly, as I'd have thought it was nearer 1 in 10.

They must be doing somthing right, they sell a lot of property and are well established selling to the French now.
