Wasn't it £350 million per week?

"11,000 more nurses this year"
I'm left to wonder how far 11,000 will go to replace the people in this sector that left due to Brexit. And how many left the job willingly after working incredibly hard and being given promises instead of pay rises over the years.
The figures will be phoney or at least manipulated anyway. Like the promised 40 new hospitals of which quite a few were either minor extensions or renovations of existing ones.
In the same sleight of hand they promised 20,000 more police to be recruited, assuming we didn't notice police numbers were cut by a suspiciously similar amount just a few years ago.

Or the wealthy puppet masters. The poor puppets will remain just that.

Where I live when in the UK, about 80% voted Brexit.
The main reason was not wanting the country full of foreigners.
To them it has been a success. Saying that many are disappointed that black people and Pakistanis didn't have to go home.

I would love to see the UK back in the EU, but I kind of agree with Starmer..that ship has sailed for the foreseeable future and the UK just needs to try and make the best of what it negotiated rather than spending it's time in constant battle with it's imaginary enemies, and blaming the EU for the mess it got itself into. It needs a period of stable government, a time of reflection..and at some point maybe rejoining the single market or customs union...but that will take 5 years. I really don't think the EU countries would be interested in the UK rejoining at the moment anyway. In 4 years time it will be 10 years since the referendum, and by then a large percentage of those who voted leave will be dead..so that may be a time to rethink.

I know a woman who lives in the village, used to work for me when i did that thing. She must be mid 50's now, lives in the same house as her mother, grand mother, daughter, grand daughter and great grand daughter. Mind you, at the other end of the village a house sold for £5m. So a complete mix. Not completely though, just one Asian/black family.

In 4 years time it will be 10 years since the referendum, and by then a large percentage of those who voted leave will be dead..so that may be a time to rethink. If the two constituent countries of the UK that voted remain secede from the UK, a prospect made more likely by Brexit and the same aging factor, then the benefits of that aging factor to the two leave countries may be negated.

Either way..it's a good 10 years away and we may all be obliterated as a result of the Russian war by then.
