Not ocean plastic if you read the article closely. It says it is plastic that would have ended up in the ocean.

On a more serious note, this has been an issue for years. www.nationalgeographic.org/encyclopedia/great-pacific-garbage-patch/There were loads of vids on youtube about plastic’s devastating effect on wildlife. it could be that this plastic is exploited for the benefit of everything at some point. Whether there will ever be a net gain in so called ‘ Progress’ is a moot point.
