Rare to see a renovation on a French forum these days. Nice job. Now where is the picture of the exspensive toilet ☺ You have done a lot in the time you have been out. About to order the WC, but lead time is 6 weeks.......so just in time for our next visit......

into this, with some satin black spray paint.....

Generally all it takes is to get rid of the ubiquitous horrid wallpaper and go for a light wall colour to make a huge difference. It bounces the light around the room and moves your attention to the furnishings and personal touches. Such a shame wallpaper is back in fashion. I hate it. Always makes a room look smaller.

You’ve done a great job on that light fitting, it’s great to see things being given a new lease of life, Brexit/Covid adds to your difficulties but hopefully it’s all worth it, I know where I’d rather spend my time.

"Rare to see a renovation on a French forum these days." My last 21 years has been nothing else. No time, inclination, or energy to swan about with a camera.

This was hard dirty dusty work. I can't imagine how hard you had to work to get from the first photo to the second but so worth it. It's beautiful. Well done.

If this was the floor you mentioned on another topic, if so I could recommend Luberon brand, it is a stained wax that you brush on (or with a cloth) then buff.
