“Wow, that girl is cool,” tweeted Kira Yarmysh, the spokesperson for the jailed opposition leader, Alexei Navalny.
Lets hope she still retains some cool after 15 years in the Gulag.
A future martyr?

I wouldn't want to be her.
I hope she remains safe

Such bravery is breathtaking. Her future looks bleak, which she must have known, but she’ll remain in people’s thoughts for a very long time.

Very brave. I hope it inspires someone at Broadcasting House.

Poor girl. Such a waste... Does anyone remember (besides family members) the name of the 80 something year old lady arrested during the first few days of the conflict for protesting?

Hopefully her brave gesture will have a positive if small effect in Russia .. Her frustration at being part of the news team, and knowing the truth, but being unable to air it legally must have been overwhelming.

What courage she showed and no doubt continued to show to her captors. Let's all hope they don't cruelly mistreat her, but I fear that could be a forlorn hope.

Radio 4 is saying she could get that - but don't the Russians even have to hold any trial?

Radio 4 is saying she could get that - but don't the Russians even have to hold any trial? I think martial law has been declared = summary sentence and limited or no access to legal advice.

I just heard on Radio 4 that she is in court. I don't suppose anyone will be there in her defence. Poor lady. I dread to think of her future.

State investigators were looking on Tuesday at whether she could be punished under a new law that carries jail terms of up to 15 years, Russia’s TASS news agency cited a law enforcement source as saying.
However, BBC News reported that Ovsyannikova is being charged with “organising an unauthorised public event,” an administrative charge which could result in a fine of up to 30,000 roubles (£200), community service or up to 10 days in jail

If the latter, I would happily pay her fine as I am sure would we all.
