Hard to believe but true. A new bakery opened in Saint Amand last week they are all over France. Buy three get one free. I order two bits of bread that start with a b but I never get the spelling quite right and an extra large pizza. The pizza said if you buy two its 15 euros which is a bargain but I only wanted one. (edit a talking pizza) So she is struggling to work out what to press on the till but got the two bits of bread rights 1.99 then entered 2 euros for the pizza. Got everything for 3.99, the pizza was very nice and did double check there was no flippin onion on it. Potato, cheese and ham ATS got the olives. I will probablty feel guilty later for not saying are you sure that price is righjt. XXL

Is this a vending machine or a real shop? I guess it's a malfunctioning machine. Whatever it is, it seems you got a bargain and shouldn't be complaining about the lack of onions! What you saved would buy lot of onions, but if you bought them around here they'd perhaps all be going rotten.

Its a bakery franchise not a machine made pizza.

We have one of those! I think they can make up prices to suit as I am always getting bargains.
I often go in to buy one of their tropeziennes that I am quite partial to. If their price at the time is over 9.50€, I just walk out. They then call me back and mark trhe price down to 9.50!

If you have a bed warmer you get her to hang about until 30 minutes before they close evrything is half price.

That is correct - except for a tropezienne. They never go below 9.50€ Maybe there is something in the bedwarmer theory - she has often said she would like to share my tropezienne whilst I help improve her English...

I was thinking about pizza this morning. Telling Mrs.A I hadn't had a really excellent pizza since the late 60's in So. Cal. Thought they would be great in Italy but they were always served cold in little rectangles. In France they seem tough as old boots and haven't a hint of Italian seasoning at all and use every sort of cheese except Mozzarella. In UK they were a bit better but only if made to order somewhere but what on earth is going on with weird toppings? Pineapple..................give me strength.

Pineapple cheese and ham is very nice as is cheese chicken and honey. You even get one here with that stinky sausage.

A pizza with goat's cheese and honey, for example, doeesn't appeal to me at all, and if it's got that stinky sausage on it - by which I think you mean andouille or andouillette - it won't even get house room.

I just make my own, dead easy although you have to allow a little time for the dough to prove.
Choice of toppings, reckon a decent pizza will cost less than €1,50.

Personally I am a great fan of Flamkucken (Alsatian)/Tarte au Flam.
Very thin base (pre-prepared bases available) topped with creme fraiche/yoghurt mix, red onion and lardons and finished to taste with cheese (soft goats cheese is great), peppers, olives etc.

Saturday night is often 'pizza night' in our house (always homemade) so tomorrow I'll be having a classic 'Napoli' with anchovies and capres washed down with an IPA of some description.
