Big corporations will stop at nothing to increase profits by killing jobs.
I used to live two blocks from the second McDonalds ever built. It still stands. The sign outside used to announce the burgers were 19 cents. Happy Days.

I remember when a McDonald's burger was 79p in Earls Court Road but only 69p in Fulham Road North. Earl's Court Road was closer but 10p is 10p.
6th March 1979, how's that for specifics, I encountered my first McDonald's in Cologne. None of the group I was with had heard of McDonald's and we speculated how this huge Scottish cafe came to be in Germany.
Nowadays there's at least a dozen spread throughout the world.
