We have friends near Dinan in Brittany who hosted David Cameron, his family and entourage when he was prime minister in their complex of Chateau and Gites, he has a picture of him and DC on his mantlepiece, he has been trying to sell his complex for ages, we suggested taking down the picture might help

“odd that Tony Blair used to holiday in Saint-Martin-d'Oydes” ooooh....that’s very very very close to home… Joking about slackers aside I suspect one of the reasons he stayed there is that he and Mrs Blair were “besties”, through connections made during their time in the legal profession, with the British couple who owned the chateau in the village, so perhaps he got “mates rates” A plaque celebrating his stay is still on a wall in the village… even when he was on holiday he was costing they British taxpayer. I remember having a meal or two with a member of his security staff who were boarding at an associate’s gaff. By coincidence, oh and I have just had lunch at Carla with one of the women who looked after the gaff while the besties were not in residence.

If so sounds like we have a mutual acquaintance, though we haven’t seen the lady in a long time. Have you by any chance heard about the time the chateau ended up being rented by a film company………. ? I believe the place got sold on a few years back and rumour has it it is now in American hands though we have yet to bump into the new owners..

That makes two with Justinian. Although I asked what was happening at the chateau, any reply she made was not of sufficient importance to make any impression on my curiosity or memory.
