I’ve recently been reading a couple of her books around the time of the princes in the tower era. Perhaps some forum members will discard these as pure fiction, it has prompted me to further research, what do forum members think really happened? Perhaps we have some learned members who’ve studied this part of history.

Hi Traveller
As you know there is plenty of controversy over the fate of the Princes and whether Richard III's character has been traduced by many writers, not least a Mr Shakespeare.
One book that's a delight to read is Daughter of Time by Josephine Tey
The premise is a police detective is laid up in hospital and decides to investigate the case. Sounds a bit naff but it's Tey so it's very well executed.

Yes, it’s very well done - Tey is very thorough, as always holds the reader’s interest and is very well-written.
My favourite book by her is Bratt Farrar though.

I strongly belive the Duke of York instigated it to win favour with the king and give him totaly kingship. Just MHO

There is no evidence that the Princes were dead by the time of Bosworth. Furthermore, Henry Tudor did his best to demolish Richard's reputation and paint him as evil yet never once mentioned what would have been Richard's worst crime.
My money's on Henry or one of his retinue as the murderer.

I have read all of PGs books over the years, they are well written and well researched and all leave you asking questions which no one has the answers to. As to the princes - I believe someone in Richards or Henrys retinue were responsible. I dont belive Richard ordered it. - hey just me

Dan Snow’s History Hit podcast channel has some very good podcasts about the historical details of the time.
