While walking round the plan d'eau today, instead of the Coypu and Donkey we saw a big fish very close by, shouldn't it be afraid of us humans?

ignorant people probably feed it. Yeah, Americans would do that, then eat it and get really fat.

Is it a Carp ? I am no fish expert except in a restaurant.......Fishing is allowed on the lake and happens regularly, it was about a foot and a half I think

I'm guessing it to be a trout, I find the fish proportions too long from the dorsal fin and not deep enough in draught to be a carp, but there are many types of carp such as the big koi carp japanese goldfish. What do I know? Ask a local fisherman and he will recognise it as the one that got away, but smaller.

If you zoom in on the pics you will see it in better detail, it looks like a "Mirror Carp" to me, but carp fishing is not a type I have done and not likely to either, I will stick to the flies.
