After 11 months of waiting anxiously, our filly foal, Sulina, finally arrived, at 3am this morning! The porteuse mare, Lilly, is very well and baby is up on her feet and nursing. For those who may be interested, this is our first foal born by embryo transfer, taken from our highly successful showjumping mare, Ulina, who, very sadly, did not live to see her daughter born. We are over the moon! Attachments:

Oh Crystal, how perfect. I'm so happy for you all as I appreciate how precious this filly was. Big hugs to Lilly too for doing her job so well. (Does she now have a home for life? ) Did she cope by herself? Sulina is such a lovely name in memory of her biological mum. One white foot, buy'em................!

I'm jealous. What a beauty. I have myself only ever bred one thoroughbred filly foal and she too was a delight. Sadly she damaged her fetlock and left a scar which dumped her auction price at Tattersalls.

Thanks to everyone - we are absolutely delighted with the foal...and with the porteuse mare who is doing a super job as a first time mother. As some of you know, we've been trying for this foal for 5 years and can't believe that, after so many set backs and slaps in the face, it has finally happened. This foal is so important to us because she carries the lineage we want for our future breeding programme and the fact that she's a filly is the icing on the cake! Of course we'll have to wait another 2 years to harvest eggs from Sulina before our breeding programme can properly take off, but we are sure it will be worth the wait...until then, she will be kept wrapped up in cotton wool!
