In these new days of the Pass Sanitaire in France allowing you entry to various establishments, don't forget to have some ID with you; if they scan your Pass, paper or otherwise, it will say Mr/Mme Bloggs, but you'll need to show that you are indeed Bloggs, in case you've bought a dodgy pass from a free-lancing pharmacienne.

I read this morning that during the debate in the French parliament last night the minister of health said that identity would not be checked when scanning a QR code.
However, they might check it just after!

Meanwhile in the UK they have a double vaccinated man who is self isolating after being in close contact with another double vaccinated man who has tested positive, telling the hoi polloi that they must be double vaccinated in order to stop the spread, save the NHS and 'get us all back to normal'.
I think it would make a good Monty Python film!

Whats the situ with tourists/second home owners from the UK, I am still assuming the NHS QR code is still unreadable by the TousCovid app? How do we get into cafes/restaurants should we choose to want to?

I have heard that the latest of the app will accept the NHS one. However not seen it in action so hearsay.
Also heard that someone went to a vaccine centre and got their NHS paper proof 'upgraded' to a French one.

The last update by the French embassy in London and NHS information. For the citizens of EU member states it is much easier: as from the first of July the new QR codes should already be an official EU code. Earlier national vaccination codes can be converted to the EU format. For those who still trust a real paper passport: France accepts the international WHO "yellow" passport. A new format agreed upon by all UN member states around 2005 already, in three languages: of the issuing country, English and French. How many sailors, pilots, tourists and businessmen had to show this passport to get into an African country, China etc. the last fiftyyears? Many....So I have mixed feelings about the enormous emphasis on digital QR codes. Every family member a smartphone?

I don't have, don't need and don't want a smartphone and as far as I've seen re vaccination certificates, the paper versions are fine. They carry the QR code which can be scanned just like the one on the smartphone if required to be by the relevant authorities/venues.....

Indeed it does work, I had to print out a new certificate with QR codes but they scan into the TousCovid app, it shows two certificates, jab 1 and jab 2

I understand there was some ambiguity as to whether the NHS QR codes, evenonce they are in the app, will work for venue checks rather than border ones but I have been told that has been resolved. Not seen checkable evidence yet though

And in my case add cannot use since we are in a mobile dead spot. The other side of the village allegedly has Orange 4G (according to Orange) but the sight of artisans doing a Whirling Dervish dance in the village square with their mobiles held high to send an SMS to some supplier or another for pick up after lunch is a sight to behold.

FWIW being current for the yellow fever “jab” and carrying the certificate was becoming less and less less of a requirement and certainly I never got asked to show it in over thirty years of going to the countries/continents you mention.
Given routine checking at borders has pretty much fallen into abeyance I think many countries worldwide are going to be struggling initially to reinstate the practice now that those bits of paper have suddenly become important again.
I used the tousanticovid app/QR code in Italy the other week to access an event and it really was a doddle.
