I remember the coronation back in 52 when we all partied in a local farmer's barn and when I saw this photo in the daily fail, it brought back memories of the lifestile then when almost everyone's back yard was a rich source of food. These days I see backyard makeovers reducing the space to mini parks and totally unproductive.

Are you sure you remember that in 1952 PW? The coronation was June 2, 1953 There seems to be a deal of confusion about what the jubilee is celebrating and most people seem to think it's 70 years since the coronation (which will be next year) whereas it's really 70 years since Elizabeth's accession to the throne on the death of her father on 6 February 1952. The media seems guilty (as ever) of causing this confusion and I bet most Brits think they're celebrating (or not) the coronation.

My floppy tells me we partied in 52 I can't remember whos party it was (not a work event) and I remember 53 for the floods where the sea showed us a glimps of the future climate change. Mind you, it was quite a time ago.
