Had my second booster jab yesterday, was disappointed to read this morning only 25% of those eligible had had theirs. In my case, not for the want of trying.

The pharmacy worked for us - they weren't on the Doctolib list but when I asked where the nearest place was she said she would do it - job done! That's very interesting as I looked on doctolib this morning and nearest available for 4th jab was was 23kms but for 1st or 2nd jab it was the local pharmacie. I'll ask there on Monday and report back.

There is a new draft law being prepared, maybe the pass sanitaire will be required at borders if and/or when it is passed: In French

Do you actually read the links you post or is it just that you like to take a contrarian view?
From the conclusions in your first link:
Additional booster doses in anticipation of future waves, or in advance of the autumn/winter season, are expected to be needed for rapid deployment in those groups most at risk of severe disease (e.g. adults aged 60 years and above and medically vulnerable populations). These additional doses will have the greatest impact if administered closer to expected periods of increased viral circulation, but before it reaches high levels.

I think you all are just getting unnecessary injections.. Seems France is just using up the stock of the old that do not work against the new .4 & .5 variants circulating Do you know for a fact that they don't work or is this just an assumption?

Every body over 60 has problems?? even being jabbed 3Xs... That is overboard.. Way, way... Waste of resources and tax payers €..

ibisEverybody over 60 is offered an annual flu jab because with flu, like covid, the risk of serious illness or worse is enhanced. I am sure if the scientists were clever enough they could identify exactly which individuals would be stricken down by each of these viruses. We are not there yet and until we are the safe step is to recommend that all receive the vaccine. I understand that such a concept is probably difficult for you to grasp so by analogy: If you are being sent off into war as a foot soldier, the chances of being hit in the head with a bullet or shrapnel might be small but you just better wear that helmet that they gave you as protection.

As I said on my other thread, I wish I had gone and got my extra jab when it was first offered and before I caught it for the second time. Just from observations, none of my circle who caught it at Christmas, or those who were more recently boosted, caught it this time. And yes it was probably no worse than a flu type cold this time round..but I would still rather not have had it.
