“ The US is more advanced in their thinking about [the impacts of tyre particles],” said Molden. “The European Union is behind the curve. Overall, it’s early days, but this could be a big issue.”
Does anyone know exactly what this means ?

I tried to post a photo of a wooden cart wheel earlier today but this damned site defeated me.

Amazing how electric cars were/are seen as the solution to the enviromental problems. Lets all get electric cars! Who is it that is making them .......? Electricity is still produced mainly by burning hydro carbons ( coal and gas) The only thing that will help the environment is less of everything in the so called " civilised"world

In the early 20th century there was popular acceptance of electric cars, particularly in cities (in USA). Companies like Baker and Detroit Electric were doing very well. Then easily extracted oil was discovered and the price of petrol dropped to mere pocket change. Development of electric cars was doomed. If it had continued through that century we wouldn't be having this debate today.
