I have been seeing the freebie bulb emails for a number of years now and had thought they had given up, or been caught by spam filters but I had another one today. Does anyone know of a guaranteed way to know if it is genuine? This is what shows when I hover over the "CLIQUER ICI POUR CONFIRMER LA LIVRAISON" button. tracking.ledbom.com/tracking/click?d=3yjGmI0l4tNN9TDkarSdn_fTu4tDxjetrSYc5WOLNoD5tVWYJipq6IZb0WzNigxC6BigIBX_CpqLBhVZAEJfojKBvGmEa6R7voOp72JELFFBnT-kr1FaF2EoX9HDWCUdwVQq2QX5OlnBqM02EHsSe18GlN75m2ic82BTSPnwzpk5ka9oOzBOdAyxNOYC9M26EQ2This is the email I received. I am afraid that I cannot vouch for your link being an honest one, but I responded to several from MesAmpoulesGratuites.fr, or something similar, and have successfully received over 125 for under a tenner. I also wonder if this offer has run it's course.

Hmmmm. With all the scams out there I'm reluctant to grab a free lunch with a possible sting in the tail.

The worrying bit is if you do reply and use your regular email address then it can be passed to all and sundry. Always a good idea to have a spare email for use if there is any doubt.

Agreed. I have three other "throwaway" addresses I use to try to retain my privacy but the offer arrived on one of my "good" ones so it appears I am already on a commercially circulated spam list.
I have emailed EDF to try to determine if this is actually endorsed by them as claimed but so far have not had a reply.

I just tried your link above. If it is a scam, then they have gone the extra mile on the form design.
I balked at the payment page though. It would only accept cards for which they want the three digit code number. This is where I always draw the line on unknown sites. If it had a PayPal link, even with a surcharge, I would have proceeded.
Regarding email addresses - use the 'hide email' facility. Not sure if this is a Mac only thing or not - it creates a bogus address that forwards to your real address but only from the site that it was created for.

Very brave of you. I wouldn't give my card details to any unknown entity either. Paypal or No pay.

I just wonder now! I got as far as the payment bit and balked as there was no PayPal. Rather than let it go, I sent them a message saying thanks but no thanks, without a PayPal link it was not for me. 'They' came back almost immediately saying it was all kosher and to keep costs down they do not use PayPal... Now, tell me anyone, when have you ever had a help desk respond immediately..? So nope, I think it is a scam and all they want is the card number and three digit security number and the next thing you know, there will be a pair of hundred buck trainers debited to your account in the morning - and maybe more depending on your credit limit.. There was a prolific scam along these lines a while back. Not seen it for a while - a text message from Ameli saying your new carte Vitale is ready but there is a 50c postage to pay, and enter your card number and security code on the form. That one caught a lot of people.
