I think he has done. Would it make any difference if we weren't content? P.S. there are 3 pages of posts on an alternative forum if anyone is that interested.

I'm pretty happy with the result , the candidate that I voted for got the seat . I would think that most of the contributors on English speaking websites in France don't have the vote or are not really bothered who governs in Paris , so long as they can get on with those that run the commune that they live in ?
As in a lot of European countries , nothing really changes after elections , too much bla bla

FWIW, I'm delighted with the result locally, and on a national level, La Ministre de la Santé lost her seat and her job. Good! Remains to be seen whether Macron can function as Prés with his wings clipped. If not, he'll call another election, which makes something of a joke of democracy (as if it wasn't already). Don't like the result, so keep trying until you get what you want.....pffff

Firstly my apologies for not replying earlier but I have been very busy renewing 3 UK passports, photo's etc. Thanks for the replies and not much different to the UK. "Will no one rid me of this turbulent prat?" seems appropriate for both Macron and Johnson.
