My friend in the UK has two gorgeous Maine Coons - brother and sister. Both are huge and none of the neighbourhood cats want to go near them!
Just recently, Marmite the girl stopped eating and just wanted to sleep so my friend took her to the vet who sent her to the veterinary hospital in Wimbledon because her potassium levels were dangerously low and she was having difficulty breathing. They then sent her to the Royal Veterinary College in Potters Bar.
Turns out she has a heart murmur and thyroid problem.
Total cost: £8423.00 for seven days from start to finish.
Insurance paid for most but she was still left with a bill of just over £2000.
