How do you think the French people will react to the revelations that Macron appears to have enabled Uber? In years gone by they would have taken to the streets. Will that happen this time. Who knows.

It's all over the UK press that many uk ministers were involved in similar (secret) talks since documents have been released ref Uber's UK expansion.

Normal, hypocritical behaviour by a politician. I think everyone's used to it now As for taking to the streets, pfffff. It didn't make a sight of difference last time, did it? Anyway, they're mostly too busy taking to the beaches at the mo.

Other than taxi drivers and operators, why would people take to the streets. Uber, as I see it, offers cost effective alternative to high priced taxis. Is it not right that a politician should work to dismantle monopolies and cartels?

Are there any french nationals on the forum? It would be interesting to hear their views.

A link would have been appreciated, UK media is below French and World News on my priorities. I thought perhaps I could not see it as I was viewing on a phone but it's the same on this computer, however there is a large blank space under the text, is there perhaps a link or screenshot that is not showing?

If the story had come out before the Presidential or parliamentary elections then it might have made more of an impact here than it has.

It's all over the French media. A cursory glance is all it takes. even the bbc and sky first pages of their websites... And a curteous link is all it would take to make a new thread comprehensible without having to go searching, you did after all ask a question.
