I was trying to find a clip of the comedian who told the joke about the IRA terrorists who had their plans confounded when the authorities fitted lids to all the public waste paper bins. Doesn't fit with the punch line that I remember though. ’ What de fec we gonna do. Dey have taken all d bins’

I'm rather surprised that no-one has blamed this hot weather on Boris Johnson. Hope everyone on here plus their extended families are safe and well.

Jo, we stick to facts on here boris is a lying fecer who enriched his friends and met A top Russian spy right after an important Nato meeting without any security. As of today I do not think he has anything to do with the weather unless your religious then it could be a sign that God is not pleased with him.

I wonder how English adaption is going just now that 40C daytime temperatures have been broken.
I hear of schools closed museums closed zoos closed major rail links shut - some precautionary, some due to infrastructure breakdown, some due to lineside fires. Airport closing while runway repairs are carried out. Trains running at 20mph instead of timetabled 60+mph Road tarmac melting and gritters being used to spread sand on the molten tar. Water outages Electricity outages.
It must all be fake news surely.

If you look outside your "let's denigrate England spectacles" you will see it was the same in many EU countries including Spain, Portugal and (dare I say it?) France. Try reading "Le Poher".

World Athletics Championships: Britain's Jake Wightman wins 1500m gold What made it even better was that his Dad as well as being his coach was the stadium commentator for the race! Plus watching his Mum jumping from her seat and charging up the steps was emotional!

You really don't understand do you? You raised how much better England was doing than Europe. I merely questioned whether it was really better. Europe certainly has its problems. Some are worse than England, some better.
The real problem however is with people like you who go around proclaiming that there isn't a problem when there clearly is. By doing so you convince the authorities and organisations that provide your services that they need do nothing because the people on the ground think that everything is OK or indeed very good. Incidentally you don't convince anyone here. You and those like you will be the instrument of the demise of English services if you keep on with your nonsense.
PS I am nowhere near Brittany. Le Dauphine does for me.

Exactly. Poor old Bald Eagle doesn’t realise he’s part of the problem not the solution but as he doesn’t read replies to his posts triggered by notifications we can presumably say what we like about him and he’ll never know as long as we remember to quote one his replies? What person in their right mind would say such a thing and who believes it for one second when the poster has proved themselves as someone who thrives on the discord they sow…
My advice to him is to go and join a Ra Ra Boris forum and stop obsessing over what a few Brits living in France think of the UK govt. But I guess that wouldn’t be such a trolling opportunity ( or what passes as a fun pastime in Selby) would it?

Come on Jackie. I've been to Selby (a long time ago). They have to have something to exercise the mind - such as it is.

Well done the English Ladies football team. You won 2-1 against Spain. We will be there shouting for France against the Netherlands.

Yes, but no. It is just that Jackie wrote: ‘ Poor old Bald Eagle doesn’t realise he’s part of the problem’ and I wondered which problem
