All my tomatoes are completely ruined with blight. Not unexpected given the amount of rain we've had. Anyone else got the same problem?

Given the amount of rain we normally get in Manche and the fact that my potatoes often get it, I've given up trying to grow tomatoes in general However, for the past few year's I've put a few tumbling cherry ones in ornamental pots outside the house and they re fine! (Sa far of course)

Yes, not previously been a problem but this year all varieties are badly affected.

I’m sorry to read that, mangetout, there seems to be a lot of blight this year as there’s been so much rain.

My tomatoes started off so well. But a couple of weeks ago, almost overnight, they started to show signs of blight and it all went downhill from there. I usually expect blight towards the end of the season, after I've had a reasonable harvest, so this early onset was very disappointing. Talking to a French friend last night she said almost every gardener in the village had the same problem. Ah well I'll put it down to experience and cross my fingers for next year. Are there any blight-resistant varieties of tomato that members would recommend?

As I said, my little cherry ones in pots seem ok so far but that may just be luck. There is an RHS award variety "Jasper" but whether it really is any good, I don't know.
If they are anything like blight-resistant potatoes, they won't have much flavour! I gave up growing main crop potatoes because of that and now only grow earlies, which are ok so far.

No sign of blight in our polytunnel grown toms ( don't grow 'em outdoors) but slight problems with a few of them splitting due to the sudden & excessive rise in temperature.

No blight but our plants are suffering from over-watering. It is going to be a thin crop and I am now pleased that I bought a 7kg coli os second grade toms last week which are now passata.

Burpee is a good source.

Like OlaveH, I grow them in a polytunnel, so no blight but they get overwatered because watering helps keep the temperatures down. I use the gourmands to make new plants which go outside in July as (usually) there's no blight-bearing rain for 3 months. I somehow think that won't work this year

I sprayed my outdoor ones with Bordeaux mixture as a preventative before any signs and it seems to have worked so far; a few leaves showing signs of blight a few weeks ago, but seems to be under control now. The ones in the greenhouse also started to succumb a few weeks ago so immediately sprayed them too. Seems to have held off total die-off for now but my guess is that they’ll probably succumb at some point....
I have never had blight problems with toms grown in pots on the terrace so may go back to this next year...

See above! You have to water to keep temps within bounds...
