The NHS has become unbalanced, surely? As the number and availability of GPs and surgeries diminishes so the population turns to AnE for treatment for relatively minor matters which clogs up the service. And the ageing population has not been fully factored into the equation. There was already enough to do without the covid pressures for which, again, it was not set up. The worst example is the failure of procurement of kit by, perhaps, departments not ready or able to react fast enough, leading ministers to panic somewhat, mbut then who wouldnt. You're not seriously suggesting that ministers' woes are the fault of the NHS?

You're not seriously suggesting that ministers' woes are the fault of the NHS? Unfortunately hvm as far as the UK government is concerned nothing is their responsibility. There has been a consistent drip drip of articles of late implying that the NHS has no-one to blame but themselves. Such a nasty little trick, diverting attention away from those who are truly responsible for failing to lead.
