Not sure how many on here use AOL but I have received this mail today.
AOL MAIL
Dear User,
We recently upgraded our Server inbox space and we will discontinue support for the old versions. Please log-in to your user account to automatically validate E-space upgrade, because you are still using the old settings
Your incoming mails will not be received by our server, unless the upgrade is successful. Upgrade last till 24th July 2022
See below!
UPDATE NOW!
Hovering over the "update now" link shows my.forms.app/form and lots of numbers.
I can't see any talk of this on the net. Seems like a scam to me;
Any thoughts?

I would instantly be on my guard when faced with any mail that started 'Dear User' .. smacks of a scam/phishing attempt/whatever.

As soon as they ask "to update now!" it already sounds suspicious. Or "risk of losing your account" and all its content. Scaremongering comes in many formats.
Quote from AOL's website:
When we send you important emails, we'll mark the message with a small blue AOL icon between the sender and subject of the email.
AOL Official Mail icon image.
Additionally, when you open the message, you'll see the "Official Mail" banner above the details of the message.

If you get a message that seems like it's from AOL, but it doesn't have those 2 indicators, it's a fake email. Make sure you immediately mark it as spam and don't click on any links in the email.

I wasn't aware AOL still existed.

The name still exists. The original company has been sold on several times. AOL in USA is part of Yahoo!
AOL in the UK was sold to CarPhone Warehouse in 2006. I vaguely remember all the aol.com accounts were going to be moved to aol.co.uk but I don't know whether it happened. It now looks as though the aol.co.uk mail service is provided by Yahoo.
