It seems you refuse the evidence in front of you.
Today the situation is stated as being not as bad as yesterday. Today 12 booths were resourced. I think that is 100% occupancy. Today there were still massive queues with lorries stacked up on the M20 - the queues being not as bad as yesterday. The fundamental problem is not French Border control but rather the processes they are required to conduct versus the instantaneous demand o the resources.
Those processes stem from Brexit

Britain wanted closed borders that means passports inspected and stamped. Wait till you see the delays next year when everyone has to get out the cars and buses.

These problems stem from a wilful, bloodyminded application of EU rules by petty minded politicians and fonctionnaires who need to grow up.

So the UK should still be treated as part of the EU or a special case when it comes to Border controls even though it has left? You’re getting desperate now or suffering from an acute case of ‘English Exceptionalism’.

Again, I do not see what the song and dance is all about BUT why do you lot call it ‘EU rules’? There is another thread here where EU refdtape is blamed for having a bank account closed. Why is it always about the EU? Why can you numbheads not get it into your skulls that you voted to leave the security of the EU and now this what it is like facing the big wide world.

I just love the thinking that Brits travelling abroad should not be subject to stringent border checks by the nasty ‘bloody-minded’ and ‘wilful’ EU but Johnny Foreigner coming from abroad should be as isn’t it oh so great that Freedom of Movement has been abolished, forgetting to mention that it worked both ways. Skewed Brexit mentality at its best…

These problems stem from a wilful, bloodyminded application of EU rules by petty minded politicians and fonctionnaires who need to grow up. Try and get it through the lump of bone that is supposedly protecting a brain. The wilful* applications of EU rules by politicians and foncs. are not new. They were always there. They applied and still apply to Americans, Mexicans, Russians (those not embargoed) etc.. If PaF are short staffed at CdG the same happens as happened in Dover - people get delayed entering France - and strangely my experience is it also happens at a number of British airports on arrival - LHR, LGW, LTN, MAN and BHX from personal experience. *and yes it is wilful. No point in having rules if you are not going to apply them. It seems it is only the UK that has/agrees rules and then ignores them - NI Protocol for example. Edit to add: If you do not like what is happening (and personally I do not, even if I understand why it is happening) consider that Boris could have negotiated a different arrangement for entry to the EU for UK citizens - but of course the quid pro quo would have been easier access for EU citizens to the UK. The ERG puppet masters would never have allowed that. So if you do not like the current chaos don't blame the French. Blame the UK government and the ERG.

This thread would have been far more constructive and non adversarial without the following comments starting with the thread title: But I guess all those involved in making Britain great again have flown off to their villas in Tuscany for the holidays.
Team brexit wanted control of the borders and signed up for the public to get the same checks as Turks.
Only one country to blame , that one that left the EU .
Getting Brexit done. A sound bite. Freedom of movement. Not a sound bite. I hope that clears it up for the hard of thinking.
So they vote for brexit, want nothing to do with the EU and then start hollering because they cannot leave their island? What does brexitland expect?
I do not think the French owe brexitland anything. Four booths are manned you say? I ask why so many?
Obviously it is ze fault of ze French because after all Brrexeet means Brrexeet, non?
Why on earth should France mitigate Britain's massive faux pas? I know it is extremely unlikely but wouldn't it be comforting to think every single adult in those queues was a bought and paid for Brexiteer?
And of course the Brexiteers will blame the EU for needing to get a 7€ visa from later this year.
Queues, strikes, shortages, r̶i̶c̶k̶e̶t̶s̶ covid. Ah, the good old days. Brexit delivers?
So what if a few brexitland folk cannot get off their island? And who cares anyway?
Why can you numbheads not get it into your skulls that you voted to leave the security of the EU and now this what it is like facing the big wide world.

I can remember when French forums were places for discussions (OK often robust) and helping others, now they seem to be used to vent frustrations and for hurling abuse, as much as I hope that Mark is recovering well I hope he does not get to see what has become of his forum.
What could and should have been a heads up to travellers to allow for delays at Dover and perhaps a discussion of why it happened (delay on tunnel French border Police late to work) became something to be ashamed of.

The people complaining that France's bloody mindedness is causing this crisis are, by and large, the same folk demanding Hadrian's wall be rebuilt (notwithstanding the geographical anomaly) to isolate a future independent country to the north of GB. Silly cookies, every one.

Silly cookies, every one. Should Scotland actually get independence would the EU not insist (as a condition of joining) that there is a 'hard border'?
