We viewed this house I think January this year and completed today. It's not our usual old farmhouses or barns that the brits like but aiming at the local French market this time. It was overgrown in January so probably a lot worse now, the old owner died years ago. No strucrual work needed just a light modenisation we are heading up on Monday to spend a few days up there and plan out what to do with it. It is the only scrappy house in the group of houses. Bathroom The neighbours

You should be able to tidy that up in relative comfort compared to some of the others. Almost luxury.

It is like the Hilton compared to what we normally buy, we will have a bedroom ready within a couple of days other than the old wallpaper and lino it needs nothing done to it other than to change the single glazed windows which are perfect. It even has oil central heating

Close proximity to l'eglise, there might be restrictions regarding replacement windows.

We head home tomorrow I have some good pictures but cannot load them on this site from a smart phone. New bathroom with a flushing toilet which I had connected to the hot water that's a first for me with my ferry training and all. New kitchen ceiling and a re plumbed house. It's weird living in a lotissement flippin church bells all night and I don't believe in God as well.

You could believe in earplugs instead.

The kitchen was covered in cooking oil including the tiled floors. As the roof was plasterbord we could have just changed it with new boards but went for a more modern look even changed the light. As it was The cladding and light cost about 260

The greasy film you get in a kitchen is a nuisance. Our kitchen has a low ceiling clad with hard to clean white T&G strips. I have banished the chip fryer to the workshop. The spatter stops my sawbench rusting so quickly but I do get complaints from the chef if its raining.

It past its first stress test today Demon got sent down it so we know it can take a fat 8 kilo poodle. Very cold here last night looks like I had enough protection on it. Looks better from this angle.

The front wall is a great improvement, the photo as was does not really show just how out of level the wall was but looking at the new réhausse and coping on top of the old with a proper level reference datum you can see just how shonky it was before.
What was wrong with the old external stairs? Are the at the rear or on the LHS? I recall seeing the floorplans on another thread and being confused as to where the access was, I thought it was only internal from the sou-sol.
It's a shame that you have replaced the garage doors with timber sliding ones, although I admit on a practical level they are the best people want to see RAL 7016 Anthracite insulated sectional doors, I finally got around to fitting the motorised one I got from Brico-Depot a couple of weeks ago, it's made a big difference to the look of my place.
They take a very very long time to install though, nothing too complicated but very time consuming but for the price (€399) I am delighted.

If the concrete is still semi green and can be rehydrated then its not to late to use a Truelle néz de marche to give an Ovolo type radius to the front edges of each step to protect them and for aesthetics.
