It wasn't meant as a serious comment. Although a frozen cheapo in the freezer for backup is not unknown. Just add a wee bit of this and that and boom, a quick and easy Saturday night dinner, a bottle of rosé, sitting in your boxers watching British telly with your feet up on the coffee table. You can take the man oot the cooncil hoose but ye cannae take the cooncil hoose oot the man.

@ PCPA, your description also fits our favourite pizza restaurant in a nearby village. The so called formule pizza brings you half a pizza and lots of salad. More than enough for me, the only full size is one ordered by one of my sons. Bon appétit!

A new Pizza restaurant has just opened in our village , I thought " great , lets try this new venue" Drove upto the village , 5 mins , arrived at the new resto , walked in and said bonsoir , I would like to order a pizza to take away , she said it won't be ready until 21:40 , ( it was 20:00)! I feel that they won't be in business long ? Which village are you talking about ?

1970 ? That's waaaay back , we were still drinking Asti spumanti in 1970 , thinking it was the best wine in the world !! Certainly. By the glass or by the bottle?I was drinking it as well, about the same time. By the pint with a vodka top.

The wait would be 30 mins as they were processing phone orders. We went elsewhere. Les Jacobins?

I know the one, we're going to Pizza D'Ange during the week which is our favourite. The biggest issue we have when we want to eat out in St Jean is actually finding somewhere open even in the summer.

Many years ago I used to regularly visit St Jean and often ate at a resto in the centre run by a chap from Birmingham. Does that ring a bell ?
