I am in the process of getting pished on Messenger by somebody who I took to me one of my relatives.
It was a while before I cottened on that it was a a scam.
I have got ‘her’ online as I speak I want to land this fish and give it a good spit-roasting.
Any advise about how to go about it very gratefully accepted.
I will try to get a cp of the conversation asap.
it is centred on supposed eligebiity to a Grant Cheque via FedEX
one ofthe first messages reads:
Good to hear from you am doing good, I was just wondering if you had received home care grant yet ?
penultimate paragraph of message chain reads:
Trust me this for real is not what you are thinking i also have access to this ...I can see you are scared and skeptical about this but I will let you know that I feel the same when I heard about this but once I apply for it and give it a try i got this for real xx
last message teads
Here is the agent Gmail address agentdavidsmith811@gmail.com
Mail the agent now that you hear this from me and you are ready to apply for yours if your name was still available on their winner's list x

I thought you meant you were getting pissed. Trying to outwit this cretin won't be as much fun.

As I intended.
Fun ! I am finding it tedious already I am looking for inspiration on how to play it
Also, I feel that I should let my real relation know that she is getting pished, if she is still alive.
I have told another of my contacts abuout it, I have just had a reply from him flash up on the screen that says I need professional help. I am suspicious about it before I have even looked on my messenger inbox.

Can you 'unlink' someone from accessing you via Messenger ?
Or can you bar them as you can from WhatsApp or Signal ? Usually found via Settings .. privacy or security.

What many people don't realise is that there is malware out there that gets into a person's system address book. It then uses that as a database to replicate itself onward to other people. Those people think it has come from a trusted contact so have no worries about opening links, etc.
On some devices that have this "address book" function it is set by default to keep all addresses it receives. Sometimes it can be switched off, sometimes not.

Thanks for your reply Sue
I am rettty sure that computer is functioning properly. And the target was to get me to email the address given I left it as te orgial in case it’s own on snopes or whatever

I have not tried to do so as yet because I am fairy confident that I have not triggered any links in the bait and wanted to vet a cp of the conversation for posterity and then warn the person whose identity was being used that this was the case

Surely you should tell your friend asap that their address is being used. They need to change their password, and perhaps alert their other contacts to the fact that they also might be being phished.

I am rettty sure that computer is functioning properly I'm sure you're right but a drop of WD40 on the 🅿️ wouldn't go amiss. Failing that, the index finger of your right hand.

Is that some sort of joke? I use an I-Pad mini with my pointer, and, I am under doctors orders not to drink alcohol.

I suppose that it is something like a cross between a game of Chinese Whispers and that well known English game of getting well oiled and Taking the P.
