I was on HRT for years, which definitely helped, but I had to stop taking it as our GP said I’d already been on it beyond the recommended time limit.
At the time I was teaching a small group of children with special needs in a very small, very warm room, so some of the teaching took place with me standing at the open window. We often adjourned to the kitchen where children did cookery lessons with a volunteer when no cooking was taking place.
After I came off HRT I amended our diet somewhat, although our diet was already rich in pulses etc, and I baked HRT cake, which may have helped.
Thank goodness these episodes don’t occur often, although I had two yesterday - one while with the chiropractor and a second when in the dentist’s chair having a new crown fitted - both rather embarrassing, lying/sitting whilst dripping wet.

I will seek medical advice just in case it's something else. I think that's best to rule out other things. Hope you get some relief soon.

OMG pcpa - the arrogance and ignorance of some men commenting on women’s issues. Thankyou as always for continuing to share your views on my character. I'm sorry but I still cannot reciprocate.

My guess is that you don't want to go onto HRT. I can only say for myself that I was on it for 16 years and only stopped when I settled in France because the GP in France wasn't happy about it. I found it a lifesaver when trying to look after a very sick husband and work a stressful job with long hours. For me, it was absolutely great. Incidentally, my best friend was diagnosed with osteoporosis in the UK and was put on HRT at the age of 65. She was on it for 15 years.
I found the various homeopathetic, etc. remedies useless.
Good luck in finding something

I've spent this summer being dripping wet, from head, neck and down my back. It's horrible.
In my case although I'm 64, I believe my menopause was chemically induced 14 years ago through having chemo. These last 2 summers have been the same.
I've just been diagnosed with yet another cancer (3rd) so will find out if I can get any relief. Problem is I don't know if it's flushes or just being hot.

As a fellow cancer sufferer sorry to hear about you latest diagnosis. Take heart in knowing you ‘ll get excellent treatment here though. I suffer with exactly the same drippy head problem as you and I had a medically induced menopause from chemo 14 years ago too! Its bloody horrible and worse when I exert myself and continues for some time after too…
