The free photograph software in my I-pad is full to capacity. I don’t want to take up,the offer of increasing capacity by buying more space for a monthly fee.
I have been getting messages for years inviting me to do so but have maintained the ability to take and store pictures or screen shots by deleting pics that I will not conceivably need to see. Probably like most of the 200 or 2000ish ? ish that I have stored. It seems that my computer memory is full. I intend to try making more space my taking the pictures off of the I-pad and loading them onto a Seagate 1TB Basic storage device that I brought to rescue files from my old Acer PC.
I do not know if this is possible or, if so the best way to go about doing it.
Any instructions as to how this might be achieved please?

I'd love to help but Ipads and in fact anything "I" is beyond my pay grade. Surely there is a way, apart from buying a newer bigger better one with more memory.

You will need to find some device / adaptor to connect iPad's unique connector to the Seagate. I actually do this through a computer = download from the iPad to the computer and then copy to the Seagate. Tis also means I can view pictures on the bigger computer screen

It’s not that I am particularly mean. Is just that I have a shed full if plastic tat and Nick nacks already and I do not want to add to the scrap plastic mountain. Especially as oh is hell bent on protecting the orang-Utans. edit @ exile. Thanks I think there may be one amongst the tat. I may be some time.

If your seagate contains PC data from another computer, you may have to create a partition to accept the apple data. I know that the system is different, but how to do it is another matter.

Sound easy :>&
‘Partitions enable users to divide a physical disk into logical sections. For example, allowing multiple operating systems to run on the same device. With older file allocation tables, such as FAT 16, creating smaller partitions allows a computer hard drive to run more efficiently and save more disk space.’
FAT 16. mmmm…
OH has gone out. I have my adapter at the ready. Good time to experiment.

NTFS
Still not to fecin sure. I used to be able to post pics from pics on my computer. Ican’t do it presently so think some one has been busy with the functionality of the software
I have vastly improved its capacity with a 99 cent/ month sub to Google, but, this seems to have taken away my ability to post temporary links to my pictures on forums.
does any one know what I am referring too?
