The house we are working on had a cat turn up the first day we were there and just walked in so gave it some dog biscuts as you do if you do not have car food. It came back later and got some more. The following day it was back and we asked the neighbour if it was his. The cat used to live in the house, the owner left and went without the cat another neighbour feeds it but it comes every day and sits outside the door. We left yesterday at 6am and it came for breakfast before we left He or she has no fear of demon and just walks past him how is that for a sad story. Remember if you move take your pets, the old owner is now dead.

It's beautiful, as it has no fear of the dog could you adopt it?

If we had been moving into that house we would have kept the cat but its just being cleaned up and sold. We have spent under two months this year in our home and are on the move for the rest of the year, not sure the cat would enjoy life in a car demon hates it.

Good point.
I have only spent a few nights in what was my home in France since last November, its now simply a stopping off point, most stopovers have been less than 24 hours, this one will be a few days but still not enough time to remove my clothes from the backpack.
Thankfully the cross-channel trips have finally come to an end, as of tomorrow mid-day I will no longer have a foot in each country and no further link whatsoever with the country of my birth.

The cat used to live in the house, the owner left and went without the cat So sad, all the sadder for being not an uncommon story. But he doesn't look under-nourished so the neighbours are doing a good job. This cat ressembles the maman cat of a little family currently living in my spare bedroom. Attachment DeletedFirst pic is when they were still in the courtyard of the local bar. Maman at the back, very skinny and doing her best to nourish her 3 kittens. Croquettes passed through the bars of the gate each day. First of all we tried to capture maman to get her sterilised but ended up capturing them all with the runt of the litter (middle) hardest to catch. She spent 2 days alone with no mum and little food and we began to think the worst but she's a feisty little survivor. I can't see how to add another image to this post so will do a new post.

You can call me what you like , the best way is to "put the cats down " or just kill them
Too much empathy with feral cats means a lot less wildlife!

Little family now well nourished and more comfy! Maman put on 400 grammes in 17 days. Mum sterilised and all now vaccinated etc. The little one at the back has already been adopted via the local refuge and the other kittens are looking for forever homes. I'd like to keep maman if my 11 year old Leo agrees. Big if! If by any chance someone's looking for a beautiful kitten ... pm me! One male, one female left.

You can call me what you like I am, right now. The mother clearly had a home, presumably chucked out when she was found to be pregnant, as she is tame and affectionate. If all owners acted responsibly there would be far fewer feral kittens and good homes would be easier to come by, though clearly not chez vous.

we are not against cats, I love cats , but I love our nature more By definition a feral cat is part of nature. Your objection to cats is much like my objection to magpies who predate on all the small birds that come to our feeding table. Predation is part of nature. Trying to adjust it is actually unnatural.

What a shame the same principle doesn't apply to worthless, scrounging, over-reproducing humans. I'm sure that given your concerns for the planet, you'd agree?

A feral cat is not part of nature. It is an animal that was produced by humans needing company and then left to go wild , usually producing many young . Magpies are wild inhabitants of this part of the world , you attract them by attracting small birds , they are just taking advantage of the feeding table

If you think your nature has not been heavily influenced by humans, you need to do a bit of research.
