As some of you already know, for the last 3 years we have been trying to do an embryonic transfer from our top showjumping mare, Ulina. This year we had a successful transfer and the surrogate mare has held the pregnancy...so far.
Today we had a phone call from the stud to tell us that everything is OK and they have done the 70 day 'sexing' scan...and the foal is female!
This is fantastic news for us because it means we'll have another mare with the lines we want for our future breeding programme.

Fantastic news Crystal.
Do you know yet whether the other surrogate has held too?

We tried 3 further inseminations, but no eggs were found, so we didn't get to attempt a second transfer, but we think we are very lucky to have one.
