Don't all cheer at once. I've been fairly ill for quite a while now with Covid but finally today I had my all clear test.

I wonder if Joseph will outlast Truss. Reckon so, he survived death a few years ago.

Strange but Covid didn’t stop me posting, however ill I was. You haven't had Covid then mate. 15 kg loss in weight, a month spent in bed or laid on a sofa. The first time. This time I was like death warmed up. Don't be so antagonistic.

I only had three days in bed but I lost my hearing for about ten days which was scary. I was vaccinated but my partner not because of current medical problems and she nearly lost her life due to respiratory problems.

Strange but Covid didn’t stop me posting, however ill I was. You may find it hard to believe, but there are big differences in how Covid may affect different people! I knew someone who had trouble staying in contact with friends and family. Probably due to the fact he was placed in an induced coma!

she nearly lost her life due to respiratory problems. Did that stop you posting? Not at all. In fact, I probably posted more to take my worries away from her.

I do not think I have ever had cv but I am curious as to how it seems to affect hearing. Since my op about a year ago and subsequent chemo and True Beam radio treatment I have had a really weird time. One of the effects seems to have been auditory problems. Most of the time my hearing is normally acute but occasionally it becomes hypersensitive. This is especially noticeable at mealtimes when the sound of cutlery on class or china is almost unbearable to me.
I have a little understanding of the theory and mechanics of perception but would love to know for sure why this happens.

After each jab my (good) hearing became more acute .. distressingly so on occasions. As you describe Nifty, the ringing sound of cutlery on crockery can become unbearably piercing. Our doorbell seemingly became monstrously loud, so I thought it had malfunctioned. OH tells me it's me, not the bell. I can't begin to describe how loud I find the volume of the TV .. though, again, my OH says it's me, not the telly. No idea why this has happened .. I am pleased it is this way round rather than hearing loss, as that would be harder to bear.

I had the sensation of a head bunged up with mucus. The hearing started to return several days later and is now back to normal three months on. By coincidence I have had tests with an ORL as well as a brain/ head MRI for another problem , both of which showed nothing out of the ordinary. I still feel knackered physically which is annoying as I’m usually an active person. My good lady was lucky as her youngest is a nurse in the local A and E so spotted the respiratory signs early.
