Car drivers, take heed of these notes and Remain vigilant.
Thursday abt 15.00 hrs
About 20 minutes ago my oh had a low speed collision with another car in the car park at the hospital.
I think that there was minimal damage to the car that my wife was driving.
I am not sure how it happened. Driver of the other car was not sure of the procedure to be taken about noting details for insurance purposes and got the help of a lady who was visiting her father in the hospital.
I wonder what will happen. Years ago the slight dent on the other car could have been easily sorted by a panel beater with the right equipment at very low cost.
I have no idea what figure the insurance company and repairer will come up with between them.
I would say that sombody is at fault. It this case as there are no road markings or give way signs at the junction where the accident happened and I would contend that the give way to traffic coming from the right rule applies, and, if this is the case, my wife was not at fault for the accident.
We shall see.
15.30 I am sitting in the car at the park at the Grand Frais supermarket having just finished writing the above account while I wait for OH to return from shopping there.
I think that I have heard it said that bad luck comes in sets of three. If this is the case I wonder if this is number two or thee but still dread to think what could be coming our way next.
15.46. I have just heard the boot of the car slam shut and shortly after OH returns from the mission unscathed. This time.
12/10/22 Noon
OH has just returned from a visit to our local AXA Agent. She informed me that the was immediately recognised and greeted by her first name of one of the office staff before they discussed the accident of the previous day.
It the light that there were no road markings or signposts at the junction where the accident occurred the rule to give way to traffic approaching from you right applies, and, as the insurance claim form is not correctly filled out, and, the conversation that my oh had, I very much doubt that this is an issue that we should overconcern ourselves with and if the other party to the accident should attemp to make a claim against us it will find its way into some waste paper bin before it goes on to be recycled.
Partly because the Accident Claim Form was not filled in correctly.
